UNDP Resident Representative Stephen Rodriques meets with local fisihing communities
Fishing communities in West Point and New Kru Town have engaged UNDP Liberia and partners to support several requests.
The engagement happened with community residents in the two densely populated slum communities on Monday 1, March 2021, during a visit by the Resident Representative of UNDP Liberia Mr. Stephen Rodriques.
According to a release from the UNDP, during Mr. Rodriques’ visit to New Kru Town, he had the opportunity to directly interact with beneficiaries of the Coastal Add-on project. The project was implemented by the Ministry of Mines and Energy with support from UNDP Liberia and funding from the Global Environment Facility (GEF).

MONROVIA – The Chairman of the District Development Council (DDC) in electoral district # 16, Montserrado County, Reverend Alonso Jet Duncan, has termed as an “unfounded rubbish and lies” claims made by Representative Dixon W. Seeboe that officials and members of the Council allegedly mismanaged funds intended to execute a bridge project in one of the communities in the district.

In an effort to empowering community women groups in Maryland, Maryland County Senator, J. Gbleh-Bo Brown, Wednesday, February 17, 2021, launches phase two of his micro loan scheme in the tune of (LD2,700,000) Two Million Six Hundred and fifty Thousand Liberian Dollars to various local business women groups.
Communities benefited from the gesture include: Old Kru Town, $LD300,000, Sedeleken-LD$100,000, Gbololu, LD$100,000, Gbewien, LD$100,000.
Other Women groups aided are: Feloken $LD200,000, Dedeabo $LD 200,000, Nyenoken $LD 150,000 while Manolu women benefited LD$ 100,000, Deklinken LD$100,000, Tugbaken LD$100,000, the Women of Gbeken smiled with LD$200,000, and the Women Gbon, took away LD$ 200,000 Gabwenken as part of their own change respectively.
