Kaylynn Selvey, a single mother from Harrisburg, launched a new company after months of development.
She balanced that on top of a regular day job. She recently started a new administrative position at a medical office, which sent her to Selinsgrove in February for a week’s worth of training.
While in the unfamiliar town one evening, Selvey, 32, left her hotel and was out walking. It was dark, there were few crosswalks, no sidewalks, and she tried crossing the road. She was struck by two vehicles and killed, leaving behind a 9-year-old daughter.

NEWELL, W.Va. The West Virginia fire marshal is investigating what caused a late night blaze at the Ergon refinery Wednesday night.
Seven fire departments from Ohio and West Virginia responded at 10:26 p.m to the fire at an unoccupied maintenance shop at the Newell refinery that caused significant interior and exterior damage, according to Newell Fire Chief Tim Steele.
Steele said more than 40 firefighters responded to the scene, after 911 dispatch notified his department of the structure fire at the 9995 Ohio River Road structure. The bulk of those firefighters from Chester, Lawrenceville, New Manchester and New Cumberland were used for manpower with Liverpool Township standing by at the Newell station while they battled the blaze and Wellsville bringing its ladder track along.
A new traffic pattern will greet motorists traveling over the Route 230 bridge near Musser Road in Mount Joy Township beginning April 15.
The 84-year-old bridge is being replaced as part of a $2.9 million project that includes replacing a second bridge in East Donegal Township. The 26-foot-long span is in poor condition, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
As part of the Route 230 bridge project, traffic will be moved from the south side of the road to the north side, with a 10.5-foot lane maintained in each direction. There will be no center turn lane.
An average of nearly 9,000 vehicles use the bridge daily, according to a PennDOT.
