The quick thinking of two Louisiana sanitation workers on their pickup route Monday led to the rescue of a missing 10-year-old girl, according to authorities.
A 10-year-old girl was found safe and her alleged kidnapper was arrested Monday morning after her disappearance triggered a frantic statewide search in Louisiana, authorities said.

New Iberia Police have arrested two men in connection with separate shootings that occurred last year.
According to a police spokesperson, Denzel Scott was arrested and charged with first degree murder and two counts of attempted second degree murder in a September 5, 2020, homicide on South Landry Drive.
21-year-old Eric Walker of Houston was killed in that shooting, and two others were shot. The two injured were out on bail awaiting trial on other charges. Read more on that here.
Nathan Lively was arrested in connection with a separate shooting incident that took place on St. Jude Avenue on December 30, 2020. Police say Junius Roman III and Sevonia Washington were also arrested in connection with the shooting.

The Iberia Parish Sheriff s Office announced Friday that John Babin has been hired at the new Captain of IPSO Bureau of Investigations. Babin takes over the role from Eddie Langlanais, who resigned from the position in October to pursue other interests, Sheriff Tommy Romero said.
Babin a 36-year veteran of law enforcement, retired from the Lafayette Parish Sheriff s Office as Head of the Crime Scene Unit and recently as Captain of Detectives with the New Iberia Police Department. Babin brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the job of Captain of IPSO Bureau of Investigations.
