CHICAGO – Utah junior linebacker Devin Lloyd has been named a finalist for the 36th annual Butkus Award, announced today by the Butkus Foundation. The award honors the nation s best collegiate linebacker each year.
Lloyd is one of six finalists, representing the Utes and the Pac-12 on the list. Lloyd joins Nick Bolton (Missouri), Zaven Collins (Tulsa), Jeremiah Owusu-Koromoah (Notre Dame) and Monty Rice (Georgia) on the finalists list with the winner being announced on or before December 22.
Lloyd, who has started all four games this season, leads the Utes in tackles with 38, also producing a team-high six tackles for loss. He is averaging 9.5 tackles per game, which ranks fifth in the Pac-12, also putting up 6.0 solo tackles per game which has him tied for 10th in the FBS and fifth in the Pac-12.
