PASD ANNOUNCES KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION PACKET PICKUP By John Smathers
The Punxsutawney Area School district announced they are preparing parents for kindergarten 2021 registration.
Parents or family members of a prospective Kindergarten student, that will turn 5 prior to June 1 are asked to come to the Punxsutawney Elementary School front parking lot April 14 to pick up a registration packet.
The packets will be distributed in a “drive-through” manner and an information sheet must be filled out before leaving.
Packet pick up times are 10-11 am and 5-6 pm on April 14.

School Reaction to Gov. Wolfs Mandate 6:42 pm
In a press conference Thursday afternoon, Governor Wolf ordered that all in-person extracurricular activities and sports be cancelled until January 4th.
This order goes into effect on Saturday at midnight but some school districts are planning ahead.
“We will start a few hours ahead of his order and so we cancelled all extracurriculars effective tonight and we’ll follow the order and await to see if we’re allowed to do anything for January 4th,” said Dr. Brian Toth, Superintendent of the St. Mary’s Area School District
Dr. Toth said their district is offering both full in person and virtual instruction.
