There have been no new coronavirus-related deaths in Jefferson County for the first time since last Monday, according to the latest PA Department of Health data.
There are 28 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the county’s total to 1,801.
The Punxsutawney Spirit says of those cases, 1,192 are confirmed and 609 are probable.
There has been a total of 35 COVID-19 deaths in Jefferson County.

The Punxsutawney Chamber of Commerce says it’s doing all it can to help area businesses through the COIVD-19 restrictions and lack of Ground Hog Day business.
According to the Punxsutawney Spirit, the Chamber’s Executive Director, Bob Cardamone says the chamber is studying the recently passed new stimulus legislation to be sure local businesses and residents can maximize whatever opportunity the legislation provides.

Punxsutawney Area School District announced that another student has tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday.
The Punxsutawney Spirit says the student who tested positive was in the school on Dec. 14 and 15th.

The Punxsutawney Chamber of Commerce and Punxsutawney Borough came to an agreement about snow removal.
According to the Punxsutawney Spirit, Borough Managager Toby Santik says roads will come first so they can be cleared for emergency vehicles.
Santik says that they have the manpower and equipment to assist merchants by cleaning up around the parking meters and asking business owners to push snow to the curb and when the snowfall is up to six inches the borough will use their equipment to remove it. ); } return false; }); $( #comments .commentlist .comment-content a ).attr( target , blank );
