OTTAWA – A man already being held on charges related to a pursuit is now facing additional charges after allegedly attacking staff at the county jail on Thursday. Authorities say 39-year-old Brad M. Johnson reportedly pushed a nurse up against a wall with a sharpened shank made from a piece of a leg brace. Two correctional deputies were injured with cuts during the altercation, however, the nurse was not injured. Johnson was charged with 3 counts of aggravated battery and unlawful possession of contraband in a penal institution.

PERU – A Peru man is facing drug charges after a Tri-County Drug Enforcement Narcotics Team raid on Thursday. According to TRI-dent, around 9 PM a search warrant was executed in the 1500 block of Walnut Street in Peru. During the search, authorities allegedly discovered 8 grams of purported methamphetamine and 4 grams of purported cocaine. Arrested was 35-year-old Brian M. Maier, who was charged with Unlawful Possession with Intent to Deliver. He was taken to the LaSalle County Jail with bond yet to be set.

PERU – An Oglesby man is accused of placing a spy camera in an employee bathroom at a Peru business. On Wednesday Peru Police arrested 21-year-old Drew M. Meredith of Oglesby and charged him with a class 4 felony charge of Unauthorized Videotaping & Live Video Transmission. Meredith was taken to the LaSalle County Jail where he posted 10% of a $5,000 bond on Thursday.

OGLESBY – Three individuals are facing drug charges after a Tri-County Drug Enforcement Narcotics Team investigation on Tuesday. According to Tri-Dent, they were called to the 400 block of Florence St in Oglesby after alleged drug activity during an Illinois Department of Corrections Parole compliance check. Tri-Dent, IDOC Parole and Oglesby Police allegedly located about one gram of purported heroin, packaging material and drug paraphernalia at that location. Taken into custody and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver were 27-year-old Joshua D. Bostic, 27-year-old Jeremy R. Lannen and 30-year-old Amanda J. Roberson. They were taken to the LaSalle County Jail facing Class 2 Felony charges with bonds yet to be set.
