What makes someone a Celebrity and not just famous? Does Celebrity mean living a rich, lavish lifestyle, or is it someone who influences others with what they buy and how they behave? Can anyone get that 15 minutes of fame? Is it more accessible these days to become a celebrity through social media?
Suzanne Hill delved into Celebrity with Dr Susie Khamis, Senior Lecturer in Public Communication at the University of Technology Sydney. Along with Karlie Rutherford, Entertainment Writer for the Daily Telegraph s Sydney Confidential and has worked for several magazines like New Idea and That s Life. Why do we have such an interest in celebrity culture? Why do we focus on its dark side?

The 21-year-old actress â who is the daughter of Johnny Depp â has said she feels âgrateful and privilegedâ to have the career she does, but insists she never set out to be famous and instead is simply doing a job she âreally lovesâ.
Speaking in a joint interview alongside her âVoyagersâ co-star Tye Sheridan, she said: â[Fame is] a silly side effect of what we both really love doing. I think I can speak for both of us when I say that we just really, really love our jobs. Weâre both really passionate about it and feel really grateful and privileged that weâre able to ⦠wake up and do things that we love to do.â
Millie Bobby Brown s fans aren t ready to accept that she s growing up.
The 17-year-old star was just 12 years old when she shot to fame playing Eleven in Stranger Things and while she s trying to get to grips with learning to be a woman , she admitted it s been made more difficult because so many people still see her as a child.
Speaking to MTV News, she said: âIâm only 17, but at the end of the day, Iâm learning to be a woman. Iâm learning to be a young woman. Being a young girl, people watch you grow up, right? And theyâve almost become invested in your growth and your journey. But they arenât ready to accept the fact that youâre growing up.â

Ozzy Osbourne will reportedly be the next celebrity to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
According to reports, the rocker recorded a video message for this year s induction ceremony, which was taped last week.
Ozzy has made several appearances in WWE, most famously at Wrestlemania II, where he joined Captain Lou Albano and the British Bulldogs at ringside.
Other members of the WWE Hall of Fame s celebrity wing include Arnold Schwarzenegger, Snoop Dogg, Drew Carey, Mike Tyson, and Donald Trump.
