After arriving in their temporary new home in Arizona three weeks ago in the middle of the NFC playoff race, the defending NFC champion San Francisco 49ers are now playing out the string of a frustrating season.
The Niners were officially eliminated from playoff contention with a turnover-filled 41-33 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, the latest disappointment in a season filled with them from injuries and the complications from the coronavirus.
However Adams says he isn’t thinking much about how long he can keep that streak going.
He has long-range goals in mind instead.
“At the end of the day, I want to be great and I want this team to be great,” Adams said Wednesday. “The awards or minor achievements along the way, the weekly things, hearing stuff like that makes me feel good obviously but that ain’t what drives me. What drives me is getting the Super Bowl and ultimately trying to be the best receiver to play this game.”
Adams just might be the best receiver playing right now.
Packers continue quest for No. 1 seed as they host Panthers
By STEVE MEGARGEEDecember 17, 2020 GMT
The Green Bay Packers’ path to the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs is straightforward.
Win their final three regular-season games, and the Packers (10-3) have the opportunity to earn a Super Bowl berth without leaving Lambeau Field. That’s a tantalizing possibility for a franchise that has lost on the road in three of the past six NFC championship games.
The conference’s top seed only has to win two playoff games at home to make it to the Super Bowl. The Packers, who already have clinched the NFC North title, will try to take one more step toward earning that No. 1 seed when they host the slumping Carolina Panthers (4-9) on Saturday night.
