LAHORE: SACM on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said the Punjab government is working to provide relief to the people under the Ramazan package while ensuring strict implementation of price control mechanism. In a statement here Wednesday, Firdous said Chief Minister Usman Buzdar is actively working to monitor the situation of demand and supply of edibles to provide benefits to the masses. She said the chief minister has directed to contact flour mills associations to stabilise the price of flour. The government has conducted 31,000 raids, registered more than 2,000 cases and Rs50 million fines were also imposed on the violators of the law, she further said. Tough competition in Karachi s NA-249 till last vote counted, says PTI leader Firdous Shamim Naqvi

KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Firdous Shamim Naqvi says the competition in the NA-249 by-poll being held in Karachi will be fierce till the last vote is counted.
He, however, told Geo News on Thursday that PTI is leading in every survey related to the NA-249 constituency of Karachi.
Polling for the by-election in the NA-249 constituency started at 8am and will continue till 5pm without any interval. The National Assembly seat fell vacant after PTI s Faisal Vawda resigned.
Vawda worked for the NA-249 constituency after it was neglected for 20 years, said Naqvi, while talking about PTI s chances of winning in the by-poll.

LAHORE : Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that the composite development is the prime agenda of the PTI government, adding that the government is working to extend the development process to all the areas of the province.
Addressing a press conference with Minister for Finance Makhdoom Hashim Jawan Bakht, Dr Firdous said the government is giving rights to people of South Punjab on their doorstep.
The government is continuing the composite development process and every district will benefit from the fruits of composite development policy, she said.
The Special Assistant said the South Punjab Secretariat is an important development towards South Punjab province as it would usher in a new era of development.

LAHORE:Punjab Chief Minister s Adviser on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has visited Child Protection and Welfare Bureau and broke her fast with the children residing in the bureau.
Talking to the media, Dr Awan said that the first priority of the Punjab government is to promote such institutions and expand their scope. She said the government wants to enact more laws against physical abuse and violence against children, especially violence against domestic workers and wants to set a precedent for those who take innocent children by force and force them to beg. Talking about the children living in CPWB, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said, “The government wants these children to look to a future. Pens and books have replaced the begging bowls in their hands.”
