The woman who was caught on video falsely accusing the 14-year-old son of a popular Black musician of cell phone theft has been charged with two counts of attempted assault, New York police said.
A 22-year-old California woman who wrongly accused a Black teenager of stealing her phone and tackled him at a New York City hotel in a widely seen video was charged after returning to the city on Saturday.
Miya Ponsetto, 22, faces multiple charges including attempted robbery, grand larceny, attempted assault on two counts and endangering the welfare of a child.

She spent around ten minutes in the hotel before going up to her room shortly before 9pm
Ponsetto is expected to fly home to California tomorrow after the judge ruled that she did not require bail
Earlier Saturday she was led out of NYPD s 1st Precinct ahead of her arraignment
