On Monday, April 5, the brewing space at PHX Beer Co. was busy but not just with beer-making. On that day, hundreds of people checked in for appointments to get a COVID-19 vaccine.
Leah Huss, co-owner of one of the largest breweries in the state, filled out vaccine cards. Then people followed signs and yellow ropes around brewing tanks to an array of yellow chairs where they sat and waited for their turn.
After getting vaccinated near the company s working canning line, they moved into the taproom to wait 15 minutes to ensure no one experienced allergic reactions or other issues.
The Arizona Craft Brewers Guild, in conjunction with the PHX Beer Co. and Albertsons Companies, hosted the COVID-19 vaccine distribution event, providing one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccines to members of the guild and brewery staff from around the state.
