Musician and activist Anthony McGill is the featured soloist in the next episode of Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center’s “Front Row: National.” The program includes works by Olivier Messiaen and Francis Poulenc, and Johannes Brahms, which also features cellist Alisa Weilerstein and pianist Inon Barnatan.

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. Musician and activist Anthony McGill is the featured soloist in the next episode of Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center’s “Front Row: National.”
The free virtual event begins at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, and will be available to stream until 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 28. Visit Center for the Performing Arts online for more information.

Calidore String Quartet will provide a virtual performance to the Center for Performing Arts. The concert will be available from March 10 to 17.
UNIVERSITY PARK Calidore String Quartet, praised by a Los Angeles Times reviewer for its musicians’ intuitive balance of “intellect and expression,” performs in the next episode of “Front Row: National.”
The program features Quartet in F minor for Strings, Op. 80, by Felix Mendelssohn; and Quintet in G Major for Two Violins, Viola, Cello and Bass, Op. 77, by Antonin Dvorak. Double bassist Xavier Foley will accompany the Calidore musicians violinists Jeffrey Myers and Ryan Meehan, violist Jeremy Berry and cellist Estelle Choi on the quintet.

The Center for the Performing Arts at Penn State will continue to host the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center’s free online concert series “Front Row: National” through the spring 2021 season. The first program, “Bach: The Complete Brandenburg Concertos,” will be available to stream starting Wednesday, Jan. 20.
