CHARLOTTE Family and friends say they will never forget. Sunday, they celebrated the life of 29-year-old Kelly Miller. She was killed during a mass shooting in West Charlotte one year ago.
Dozens gathered in South Charlotte to remember Miller who loved ones say was so full of life. She was struck and killed by a car during a Juneteenth celebration on Beatties Ford Road. 3 other people were killed, and several others were injured.
Friends say Miller was an inspiration. She had big dreams and wanted to be a singer.
“I just wanted to get the community together and do a balloon release in remembrance of her, you know with her family and everybody,” says Chantell Miller, the victim’s sister.
