This model is the result of a collaboration between the Ajmera Transplant Centre and Peter Munk Cardiac Centre. The study, published in Lancet Digital Health, shows it can significantly improve long-term survival and quality of life for liver transplant recipients. Historically, we have seen good advances in one-year post-transplant outcomes, but survival in the longer term has not significantly improved in the past decades, said Dr Mamatha Bhat, a hepatologist with the Ajmera Transplant Centre at UHN and co-senior author of the study.

In a UHN-led study that used the app Manage My Pain enrolled patients saw clinically significant reductions in key areas that drive increased medical needs, potential abuse of prescription opioids and of course, pain. Toronto (March 4, 2021) - For the first time, an app has been shown to reduce key symptoms of chronic pain. A UHN-led study evaluated the impact of Manage My Pain (MMP), a digital health solution developed by ManagingLife, on patients seen at the Iroquois Falls Family Health Team, and the Toronto Western and Toronto General Hospitals.
