Comments Off on Tire Makers Drive Global Sustainability Goals With New Roadmap GENEVA, Switzerland, May 26, 2021 (ENS) – Eleven of the world’s largest tire companies care about the Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs. These 17 aspirational goals were adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015 to address some of the world’s most pressing issues by 2030. The tire makers, usually competitors, are cooperating to turn those aspirations into facts. The 11 tire companies all are members of the World Business Council on Sustainable Development’s Tire Industry Project (TIP). Together, they have launched a “Roadmap” that outlines how the tire sector can contribute to the SDGs while “navigating the transition to a low-carbon, resilient and resource-efficient economy.”
