Capitol Rioter Paul Russell Johnson Charged With Making Officer Hit Head and Lose Consciousness On 4/14/21 at 5:57 PM EDT A suspected Capitol rioter named Paul Russell Johnson stands accused of causing a police officer to fall and hit their head, making them lose consciousness. Video allegedly captured the 35-year-old suspect pushing and pulling on a metal barricade outside of the Capitol building. The action allegedly caused a police officer to fall and hit their head on a stairway, causing the officer to lose consciousness. Hours afterward, the officer reportedly lost consciousness when arresting another rioter. The officer was transported to the emergency room. Doctors determined that they had experienced a concussion during the initial fall.

Man Indicted For Attacking Officer With Skateboard During U.S. Capitol Riot By Jaclyn Diaz  April 9, 2021 A federal grand jury in Washington indicted a Florida man for taking his skateboard to the head of a Metropolitan Police officer during the U.S. Capitol insurrection Jan. 6. Grady Douglas Owens, 21, was initially arrested on April 1 in Florida. He faces several charges including assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers or employees; obstruction; and violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds. Owens was captured on body camera footage using a skateboard to assault an unnamed Metropolitan Police officer, referred to as “C.B.” outside of the Capitol building, according to prosecutors. The attack caused a concussion and finger injury to the police officer.
