Coronation Street fans did a double-take during Monday s trip to Weatherfield, as Johnny Connor made a long-awaited return.

Coronation Street viewers spotted that the soap has already made a key change for Carla in the closing titles.
Friday s (April 16) super-sized episode was the long-awaited wedding of Carla (Alison King) and Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne), which ended in alarming fashion when Peter collapsed after vows were exchanged.
Most weddings come with a name change for at least one of the newlyweds, and in this case, Carla got a new surname in the soap s closing titles from Connor to Barlow! ITV
Now, this isn t actually the first time the character has been known as Carla Barlow on screen! The pair previously were involved in dramatic wedding scenes in 2013 where guests included now-departed Weatherfield residents Rob Donovan, Tina McIntyre and Michelle Connor.
