City exploring ordinance to protect patients at Toledo s last abortion clinic
The ordinance would require an 8-foot buffer between abortion protesters and Capital Care Clinic patients who say they don t want street counseling. Author: Emma Henderson Updated: 11:40 PM EST March 3, 2021
TOLEDO, Ohio Toledo s last abortion clinic is a topic that draws strong opinions.
So much so that clinic supporters are looking at a plan some say will protect patients.
Capital Care Clinic has workers dedicated to safely escorting patients inside. Those employees say the safety ordinance is needed to keep people from being harassed.
Pro-life protesters argue it hurts their ability to try and counsel people before they go inside.
