Calls are being made for action to be taken at a busy road junction in order to prevent any ânasty accidentsâ.
South Holland and Fleet Parish councillor Peter Coupland says that the Lowgate junction with the A17 creates traffic problems and is calling for action to be taken.
Queues of traffic build up as lorries try to leave the junction and move onto the A17 which is particularly a problem during the autumn.

Coun Coupland, who also sits on Lincolnshire County Council, said: âWe have had several accidents. I donât want any nasty accidents there and we want to catch it before that happens. We have got to improve that junction as the A17 is such an important road.â
Safety concerns expressed over site entrance onto Spalding A16

Councillors expressed safety concerns over the entrance of a new caravan site to be situated off the A16.
Mrs E Hanrahan applied to South Holland District Council to create a travellers site for her family on land at Oak Tree Meadow, Spalding.
The application for three caravans, hard standing and a day room would allow the family to care for an older relative who is currently in a care home.

Coun Peter Coupland told the last meeting that he was surprised that Lincolnshire County Councilâs Highways had not raised any objections to the access, which is on the A16.

South Holland District Council has put together a financial plan to counteract the impact of the pandemic, after being left with a £1.52million budget gap.
Councillors met virtually on Tuesday for a briefing on plans to close the budget gap, with a six fold plan of initial options, including not filling vacancies in the planning and shared management department.
Speaking during the cabinet meeting, Coun Peter Coupland, deputy leader and portfolio holder for finance, strategy and partnership, set out the plan of initial options, which have been detailed in the draft budget for 2021/22, and would mean a revised gap of £761,000.
