Four friends from Maine are walking more than 100 miles in five days to Fenway Park to honor a tradition their fathers began nearly 50 years ago to raise money for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund.
Denise Payette-Holmes, Peter Wildes, Link Erskine and Joe McHugh, who grew up together in South Portland, set off on their journey at noon Tuesday with plans to reach Fenway Park Sunday in time for the start of the Red Sox game against the Philadelphia Phillies.
