Among the leaders were former presidential candidate, Prof. Pat Utomi, former House of Representatives Speaker, Hon. Ghali Na’Abba, and a former president of the Nigerian Bar Association, Olisa Agbakoba, among others.
At a special virtual address, they said they have set up special committees to coordinate activities relating to the attainment of their objectives.
They said they “are deeply disturbed by the disastrous failure of political leadership and unimaginable state collapse in Nigeria, as evident in the pervasive insurgencies, banditry, kidnapping, general insecurity as well as the dangerous slide of the Nigerian economy into depression, which has dimmed the hope of Nigerians at independence; rendering our most talented young people incapacitated, to seeking greener pastures in better managed foreign countries.”

LEADERS of the National Consultative Front, NCF, a frontline political pressure group has given a gloomy picture of Nigeria, with a grim verdict that this House called Nigeria has fallen.
According to the group of Leaders who took a cursory look at all the aspects of Nigeria which include corruption, unemployment, weak institutions, cost of governance, marginalization of many critical interest groups and stakeholders, including the youth, women, rural people, among, Nigeria is in a state of despondency and is on the edge of total collapse, calling that all hands to be on deck as fast as quickly to save the country.

The main opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party; Yoruba Socio-political group, Afenifere; and some individuals have expressed surprise that 10 governors of the All Progressives Congress could abandon their state duties to accompany the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), to revalidate his membership of their party in his hometown, Daura, Katsina State on Saturday.
The President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, was also part of the President’s entourage.
Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, disclosed the number of governors and others, who accompanied the President in a statement titled “We have nothing to hide, our books will always be open – President Buhari.”

Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP, has challenged the newly appointed Service Chiefs to see their appointments as a call to revitalize the weakened security architecture to ensure the country is secured for all.
The CUPP, which said this via a statement issued by its National Secretary, High Chief Peter Ameh, while reacting to the appointment of the new military helmsmen in Abuja, said although, the sack of Service Chiefs was long overdue but still a welcome development..
High Chief Ameh charged that, “The new Service Chiefs must now go to work to make sure that Nigeria is secured for our people to travel across state lines to do business and prosper the Nation without the fear of being kidnapped.”
