Twenty-four males who tried to flee a suspected cannabis café face fines of up to £200 for breaking Covid-19 rules.
People got into the suspected café in Spitalfields using an intercom. They even had CCTV set up to monitor those who wanted to get inside.
Officers carrying out a misuse of drugs warrant raided a commercial premises in Osbourn Street on Thursday, January 28 after being tipped off.
Ch Insp Pete Shaw said: My officers risked their own lives to apprehend a group of people who appeared to have no care for themselves or for protecting the lives of others with this brazen breach of the current restrictions.

An illegal house party in Brick Lane turned violent when police swooped to shut it down on Friday (January 15) night.
Neighbours reported hearing loud music and the police were called to a property understood to be hired out via the website Airbnb.
After entering the building, police found more than 40 people found cramped inside, clearly flouting Covid restrictions.

While a lot of folk are now back at work and the beaches are becoming quieter, there are a bunch of others still on holiday, not paying a lot of attention to whatever horrors are befalling the planet, enjoying the bounteous pleasures that summer and sun in New Zealand can offer.
And throughout all this there is another group, part of the great family of musicians, who are currently making hay while the sun shines, criss-crossing the country on summer tours of one sort or another.
It s an eclectic selection at this time of year. A video of a woman apparently being arrested for sitting on a bench was staged-managed by anti-lockdown protesters, Dorset Police said.
Footage, which has been shared widely online, shows three police officers surrounding a woman in Bournemouth for allegedly leaving her house more than once in a day.
The clip then shows a woman being handcuffed and led away by officers as she repeatedly tells them: I was sitting on a bench .
But police believe the video was planned, stage-managed and recorded by members of an anti-lockdown protest group who were present in the town on Saturday.
The force said three people were arrested following the demonstrations, after refusing to give their details to officers who attempted to issue them with fines for breaching coronavirus regulations.
