Leadership GBA Board of Directors Elects and Installs Officers and Directors Atlanta, GA, July 30, 2021 (PR.com)  Members of the Georgia Bankers Association (GBA) have elected and installed officers and eight new members to the Leadership GBA Board of Directors for the 2021-2022 fiscal year. Jenny Wofford, senior vice president and director of retail banking with Pinnacle Bank in Elberton, was installed as chair. Members elected Candice Nanney, vice president and controller with Peach State Bank & Trust in Gainesville, as chair-elect. Kelly Smith, senior vice president of First National Bank of Griffin, was elected vice chair. These leaders are creative, engaged and enthusiastic about banking as a career. They’re already leaders in their banks and hometowns, so we’re fortunate to have them volunteering with Leadership GBA to help develop strong career bankers across the state, said Luke Flatt, GBA chairman and chairman, president and CEO of AB&T, Albany.

Fund established for families of poultry workers killed in nitrogen leak A fundraising account aimed to assist the families of the six poultry workers killed in a nitrogen leak Jan. 28 has been set up through Peach State Bank. The account, named the Gainesville Family Victim Hope Fund, is a collaborative effort by local organizations and churches to provide monetary support to the immediate families of the victims of last month’s chemical leak at Foundation Food Group in Gainesville. Donations to the fund can be made by calling Peach State Bank at 770-536-1100 or by visiting the bank at 325 Washington Street in Gainesville. In addition, Art Gallegos with the Latinos Conservative Organization is taking personal phone calls with questions at 678-614-5011.

Art Gallegos with the Latinos Conservative Organization (LCO) said local non-profits have certainly offered immediate in-kind help to the six families, but he said the financial need will be ongoing. Gallegos said the bank account will be open for donations through the end of May, and then the money will be divided among the families of the six employees who died.
