Central Georgia educators excited about state s bonus announcement

MACON, Ga. On Thursday, Bibb County Schools Superintendent Curtis Jones says a chunk of his staff members got a much-deserved thank you from the state and Governor Brian Kemp. When we meet with him as a superintendents roundtable, he listens. We told them the teacher morale was suffering because of this, they wanna have kids in school, but they also wanna be safe, and we asked him to give teachers a shoutout, says Jones.

As the number of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases increase in Georgia and following careful review of its policies and local COVID-19 data, Navicent Health has chosen to modify certain portions of its visitation policy. The visitation policy was put into place on March 12, 2020 to protect patients, visitors and caregivers from the threat of COVID-19. The changes are effective Wednesday, Dec. 30, and only essential visitors will be permitted into Navicent Health facilities.
Essential visitors include those who are visiting/accompanying the following patients:Â
â¢Minor patients under the age of 18
â¢Patients in labor and delivery and/or family birth centers
â¢Patients in intensive care
Cordele police investigating after ATM was robbed

CORDELE, Ga. Cordele officers responded to an ATM alarm at Regions Bank early Thursday morning.
According to a release from the Cordele Police Department, around 5 a.m. an ATM at 1216 East 16th Avenue was broken into.
The ATM was damaged and unknown items were stolen.
A little while later a white Ford F-550 flatbed pickup was located abandoned at the Heritage Oak Apartments behind Regions Bank.

CORDELE, Ga. (WALB) - The Cordele Police Department is investigating an ATM burglary at a Cordele bank.
Around 4:40 a.m. on Thursday, Cordele police responded to an alarm at Regions Bank, 1216 East 16th Avenue.
The ATM was found severely damaged and unknown items whose value is not known were taken, according to police.
Later, a white Ford F-550 pickup was found abandoned near Heritage Oak Apartments, behind Regions Bank, police said.
