WITH ADEQUATE antiracist laws in the UK, what we need is Black agency. This means the power of autonomy and self-determination. This means a person who understands their self-worth, their people’s worth, and is not dependent upon anyone else to confer humanity, what the late Martin Luther King Jr called ‘somebodyness’ upon you.
