Why You Should Cop: Remember the days of matching your cap with your kicks? If you still do it, we’re not judging. Even if you don’t you’ll still probably like the Nike Dunk High “Court Purple.” It boasts a Los Angeles Lakers-esque color scheme with a retro Sports Specialties tag on the tongue and a green insole both details inspired by vintage snapbacks making for a compelling homage to ’90s style. Though the “Court Purple” previously released in Europe, this week marks its US debut.

Nike and its Sportswear division is delivering a brand new Flyleather footwear capsule just in time for Summer 2021. Enlisted in this new collection are two iconic silhouettes in the Air Force 1 Low and the Blazer Low, both of which have been reimagined by Tokyo-based artist Mayumi Yamase.
Both pairs are treated with Yamase’s playful and vibrant design language, the graphics of which draw from her value of community as a creative and dynamic element of her projects. “Community gives me a sense of comfort and fun in my daily life, but it also stretches my imagination and surprises me, leading to discoveries in my own artwork that challenge my expectations,” she says when reflecting on her design mentality.

Nike and its Sportswear division have plans to distribute many a footwear offering throughout the Spring/Summer ‘21 seasons, and two proposals that have just been added to its release calendar are the Air Force 1 Low and Blazer Low “Paisley” makeups.
Some common design cues between this duo of basketball-turned-lifestyle models include that of the canvas-infused base layers that are decorated with tile-like patterns, black and white graphics that grace the Swooshes, beefed up shoe strings that are presented with creamy complexions and the “Sail” colored midsoles. Notable differences on the Air Force 1 option can be seen through the overlays which deviated with a slightly darker shade of beige as well as the black tongues and tan Swoosh logos that are embroidered into onto the heels. This pair also opts to go with a gum bottom.
