VANCOUVER It was a strange call that brought conservation officers to a snowy stretch of highway in Clinton, B.C., on Monday. They d overheard that Mounties were trying to round up a group of equine escapees. After a day of ice fishing patrols, (conservation officers) didn t expect a call about four horses that had escaped their corral and were on the run along the highway, the B.C. Conservation Officer Service said in a message on social media. CO Joel Kline overheard the call on his radio earpiece, the BCCOS said. It appeared the horses had gotten free, and were heading north at a steady trot on Highway 97 near Chasm Road, an area between Clinton and 70 Mile House.
Snow Hill Cemetery: Pray where you walk
By Marcya A. Joseph Guest Columnist
Snow Hill Cemetery is located in the city of Apalachicola, and like all cemeteries it is a sacred place. A place where as you walk you should pray and be aware that you might be walking upon an unmarked grown-over grave. It is naturally quiet and peaceful, yet alive with the collective spiritual presence of its inhabitants.
It is the place where my maternal grandparents were laid to rest along with aunts, uncles and cousins who had their beginnings in this little town.
On my childhood visits to Apalachicola my mother would always bring me to the cemetery to show me where her parents were buried and to sweep off their graves and bring brand-new silk flowers. Then she would pray and she would talk to them. This was primarily how I learned to have reverence for the dead and their resting places where they reposed free of the labors of the aboveground world.

NORTHPORT While talk of increasing broadband internet capacity to homes and businesses in Midcoast Maine is a high 2021 priority in many towns, a Northport resident decided not to wait, and has commissioned a Portland-based internet service provider to run fiber optic cable to his home.
In doing so, approximately 50 additional Northport residents are able to tap into the line, and will pay the standard industry rate payment tiers.
