BILLINGS â Yellowstone County commissioners passed two initiatives to ask voters whether to allow marijuana businesses to operate in the county and tax the product sold at a 3 percent rate, said Don Jones, board chair, on Tuesday.
âIt was really a close vote in the county. It was very close. There was a lot of propaganda out there that didnât come to fruition in the Legislature. That thereâs trails and different things like that are going to be funded. We believe itâs prudent to ask the voters, Jones said.

BILLINGS â At its Monday meeting, the Billings City Council will see a buy/sell agreement to purchase the Stillwater building and its land from Alaska-based WC Commercial LLC for a price of $17 million, according to the Council agenda.
The 200,000 square foot building would add more space for cramped city offices, police department and municipal court and consolidate them to one downtown location. A 2019 facilities master plan identified the need for more space as the city grows over the next 50 years, according to the agenda.
