Phil Hawes vs. Kyle Daukaus
The first round was the traditional feeler round where it was a lot of clinching and feeling out. Daukaus landed some serious shots in the second round and boht fighters seemed to amp things up. Hawes ramped up his striking at the end of the second round as Daukaus looked to come back in a bit too quickly from taking a low blow. Hawes got Daukaus to the ground in the third and kept him there for an extended period of time while landing strikes. Daukaus didn’t seem to have any answers. The third round was all Hawes, he’s a different guy than the last time we saw him, and that guy is dangerous.
A whirlwind week ended in a good result for Alex Morono, as the 30-year-old welterweight defeated Donald Cowboy Cerrone on short notice.
Morono (19-7) finished Cerrone via TKO at 4:40 of the opening round. The welterweight bout co-headlined the UFC Fight Night on Saturday, inside the Apex facility in Las Vegas. Cerrone (36-16) was originally scheduled to face Diego Sanchez, but the UFC pulled Sanchez from the bout due to medical concerns and released him from its roster, and Morono was more than ready to take his place.

GOOD- Michael “Venom” Page stops Derek Anderson
MVP peppered Anderson with lots of strikes during the first round. He dropped him a couple times and destroyed his nose. Anderson kept coming but the cageside doctor stopped the fight in between the first and second rounds because of Anderson’s broken nose. Good win for Page.
