Rogaška Slatina – German sprinter Phil Bauhaus is the winner of the first stage of the Tour of Slovenia, beating the Spaniard Jon Aberasturi by mere centimetres in the final spring of the 151.5-kilometre stage on Wednesday. Rui Felipe Oliveira of Portugal was third.
“Our goal was to finish the stage with a sprint. The final kilometre was very fast. The team has done a fantastic job, we had everything under control all the time,” Bauhaus told TV Slovenija.
The first stage that was mostly flat led the riders from Ptuj through eastern Slovenia and to the spa resort of Rogaška Slatina.

Pogačar wins UAE Tour as Ewan triumphs in final stage sprint finish Saturday, 27 February 2021
Tadej Pogačar sealed the overall victory at the UAE Tour as Australia’s Caleb Ewan overcame Sam Bennett in a sprint finish to win the final stage in Abu Dhabi.
Pogačar held a 35-second advantage over defending champion Adam Yates of Britain heading into the final stage, after being handed a 10-second penalty for allegedly pushing another rider yesterday.
The Slovenian star, who rides for UAE Team Emirates, was forced to remain vigilant to potential crosswinds during the flat 147-kilometre final stage from Yas Mall to Abu Dhabi.
