Blackburn magistrates heard when the officer illuminated his lights and indicated for Harrison Thomas to stop he raced off at 80mph. The court was told Thomas narrowly avoided a collision with another car when he went through another red light. Thomas, 20, of Osbaldeston Lane, Osbaldeston, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and driving with excess alcohol. He was committed on bail to Preston Crown Court to be sentenced on August 16. Steven Woodman, prosecuting, said a Chief Inspector Jones was following the car driven by Thomas as it left the M65 at junction six. The car went through a red light at the end of the slip road.
