Minimal injuries reported after 3rd train derailment in 3 days By Q13 News Staff Photo courtesy Yakima County Sheriff s Office YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. - A day after a train carrying crude oil derailed and sparked a fire in Whatcom County, a semi struck an empty grain train Wednesday morning and caused it to derail in eastern Washington.  It s the third train derailment reported in Washington state in as many days. The first one happened Monday east of Montesano in Thurston County. It s unclear what caused it to derail.  The Yakima County Sheriff s Office says the grain train that derailed Wednesday happened at SR-22 and Phillips Road east of Mabton. Three engines and seven cars derailed about 2 miles east of Mabton after they were hit by semi hauling a piece of farm equipment. 

Three Oaks Township marijuana ordinance begins to take shape

THREE OAKS — The Three Oaks Township Board on Dec. 14 received input from township attorney David Petersen on language he thought should and should not be contained in a proposed ordinance aimed at giving the township oversight on marijuana-related businesses. Petersen said that many stipulations are already covered by state statutes, but he urged Township Board members to carefully read each section of a draft copy of the ordinance so they could provide their input and have questions answered. Petersen said the township could set standards such as what distance marijuana-related businesses must be from institutions such as schools, child care facilities, churches, libraries and parks.

WILMINGTON – This holiday season may be one of canceled events and subdued cheer, but that hasn t kept local historic sites from getting in the festive mood. Many historic downtown Wilmington homes and museums were compelled to cancel their traditional holiday events and fundraisers due to COVID-19. Bellamy Mansion Museum, 503 Market St. Earlier this week, Bellamy Mansion Museum staff decided to cancel the upcoming Nights of Lights event scheduled for Dec. 17-20, which would have allowed guests to reserve a spot to tour the festively decorated home. However, museum director Gareth Evans confirmed that rising COVID-19 cases after Thanksgiving were behind the cancellation of Nights of Lights.

Cawley Pubs and Bars, which previously ran the Belle Vue, in Philips Road, Norwich, appointed liquidators at Leading UK this month. The company ceased operating in September 2019 when the pub was handed back to Enterprise Inns, the liquidator confirmed. The former managers racked up tens of thousands of pounds in debt - including more than £40,000 to trade creditors.
