Published March 11, 2021 1:29am Senator Richard Gordon has joined the call of his fellow senators in calling for an investigation into the series of raids in the offices and homes of activists in Calabarzon over the weekend which left at least nine individuals dead and six others arrested. In a statement, Gordon sought for a prompt investigation on what has dubbed as Bloody Sunday incident, and enjoined other senators to speak and act on these cases. The probe, he said, should be conducted by the Senate itself of the Philippine National Police Internal Affairs Service.

PNP begins process to dismiss Nuezca
Published December 25, 2020 10:00pm The Philippine National Police Internal Affairs Service is starting to process the summary dismissal proceedings against Police Senior Master Sergeant Jonel Nuezca, the cop who shot dead a mother and son in Paniqui, Tarlac. According to Jun Veneracion’s report on “24 Oras” on Friday, the IAS is planning to submit results of the proceedings to PNP chief Police General Debold Sinas by January 20, 2020. “Ni-shorten nga natin mga periods given by the rules sa pag-process ng kaso kay Nuezca para ma-beat natin ang 30 days but IAS is ensuring also na it will not disregard totally his right to due process,” PNP inspector general Alfegar Triambulo said.
