June 21 is the target date of delivery for the first batch of Moderna vaccines. It will be 300,000 doses as a start, Romualdez said in a CNN Philippines interview. We will be get more by July, August and September. The Philippines procured at least 20 million doses of vaccine from Moderna, an American brand. Of this number, 13 million were paid for by the national government while the seven million were paid for by the private sector.

The Philippines ranks second in the state of vaccination rollout in Southeast Asia after 4,097,425 doses were distributed to the people, according to the National Task Force Against COVID-19 this Sunday.
According to Bloomberg World Data, a total of 4,097,425 doses of the vaccine were given to the Philippine public while Indonesia leads with 24,723,728 doses.
The Philippines has already surpassed Cambodia (3,673,639) which is in third and Singapore (3,407,068) which is only in fourth place while Myanmar is in fifth (2,994,900).
The Philippines ranks 13th out of 47 countries in Asia and 37th out of 196 countries around the world when it comes to vaccination.
Vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. believes. that they will double the number in June by vaccinating ‘economic frontliners’ and ‘indigenous populations’ as long as vaccines continue to arrive in the country.
Filipino seaman with Indian COVID-19 variant dies

A FILIPINO seaman who got infected with the Indian coronavirus variant died last week, Philippine health authorities said on Monday.
Three of his crew mates were still confined in the hospital and were recovering, while five would be sent home after completing quarantine at an isolation facility, Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario S. Vergeire told an online news briefing.
“Their condition is OK,” she said, referring to the three seamen in the hospital.
Two of three more migrant Filipino workers who had tested positive for the Indian variant, have also recovered, she said. The other was being monitored.
