Batangas City will allow PBA teams the option to hold regular practices inside the city once protocols and necessary requirements are finalized.
PBA commissioner Willie Marcial and San Miguel Corporation sports director Alfrancis Chua received a nod of approval from Mayor Beverly Dimacuha and Batangas fifth district representative Marvey Marino during talks held Saturday.
Marcial also said that Games and Amusements Board chairman Baham Mitra, whose agency is part of the Joint Administrative Order, is also backing the proposal aimed to help teams resume practice despite the current COVID-19 situation.
Other details will be ironed out before the venues, including the Batangas City Sports Center, can welcome the teams.

THE Philippine 3×3 national team will begin its bid in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament (OQT) in Graz, Austria, on opening day on May 26 in Pool C.
Composed of young Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) veterans CJ Perez and Mo Tautuaa of San Miguel and incoming rookies Joshua Munzon (Terrafirma) and Alvin Pasaol (Meralco), Gilas Pilipinas 3×3 will try to notch one of the three tickets up for grabs in the qualifiers for the Tokyo Games, where the sport is making its debut.
The nationals play in the tough Pool C, which also has Slovenia (Europe Cup 2016 winner), France (second at Europe Cup 2019), Qatar (2014 World Champ), and the Dominican Republic.

The PBA is hoping to get a clearer view as to how it can start the 46th season amid the current COVID-19 situation when it meets top government officials Wednesday, April 28 at the Malacanang Palace.
PBA commissioner Willie Marcial will be joined by San Miguel Corporation sports director and Barangay Ginebra team governor Alfrancis Chua in a scheduled meeting with Senator Bong Go and executive secretary Salvador Medialdea where they’ll discuss various topics relating to the league’s plans for the season to start following several delays.
Marcial said during his appearance in the virtual Philippine Sportswriters Association Forum Tuesday, April 27, that among the discussions are the plans to vaccinate the whole PBA family, namely players, coaches and staff.
