There is a fairground carousel in the parklands of the Villa Borghese. In the evenings, as we made our way home after a day out, we liked to stop for a ride. He cranked up the motor and, as the lights flickered, I lifted Sophia onto her favourite mount, a gaudy creature with a golden mane. Standing in the stirrups, she galloped through the twilight while I sat beneath the trees, listening to the sound of the fountains. I was thinking about Rome and the way it unlocked every kind of feeling and that private notion that it belonged to us.

CLEVELAND, Ohio A winter storm that has a potential to dump 8 to 12 inches on the Cleveland and Akron areas has resulted in dozens of Northeast Ohio school districts canceling or delaying classes for Tuesday.
Several major school districts made the decision to cancel Tuesday’s classes by Monday evening, including Akron City Schools, Avon and Avon Lake schools, Canton City Schools, East Cleveland City Schools, Elyria City Schools, Eulclid City Schools, Mentor Exempted Village School District, and Shaker Heights Schools, to name just a few. Some districts in the area are closing buildings but will have remote classes on Tuesday, including Cleveland Heights-University Heights Schools.

Washington D.C., Feb 3, 2021 / 10:00 am (CNA).- The teachings of the Church are an “untapped resource” for Catholics to respond to problems such as abortion and gender ideology, one prominent Catholic scholar says.

“More or less the entire tradition is an untapped resource at this point,” said Ryan Anderson, the new president of the Ethics and Public Policy Center (EPPC), in an interview with CNA on Tuesday.
“America is a divided nation with lots of institutional decay. Bold witnesses to the truth and faithful living out of the truth is how we best lead the way,” he said
