Now that the outcome of the 46
th annual Metro Manila Film Festival is finally out of the bag, with last night’s staging of the virtual Gabi ng Parangal, showbiz insiders eagerly await the consequent reactions from various groups involved in this year’s competition. For years, the MMFF awards night, has always been a rich source of intrigues, scandals and even lawsuits, which actually make the yearly tradition not just truly colorful but also something to really look forward to.
The post-recognition night issues and conflicts that usually arise, take on some consistent patterns, which we will now look back to in this article. One incident is something that is to me, quite funny, so I’d rather start with it right away.

Love proves to be complicated in this romantic drama starring Iza Calzado, Alfred Vargas and Shaina Magdayao. The film, which was shot in Hong Kong and New York in 2019, initially joined MMFF that same year but was not able to be included as a finalist.

Kris Aquino’s son, Bimby, is currently trending on social media right now, expressing his personal opinion concerning the looks of his mother’s former lovers.
In the video released a year ago, the son of basketball player James Yap asked his mother a hypothetical question: “What if you fall in love with someone not guwapo?”
Kris replied that she already did, but Bimby added in jest that it was actually “three times already.”
Laughing out loud, Kris asked her son to identify them.
“Feeling ko is a lang naman talaga,” Kris pointed out.
Then Bimby told her who these people were but with his hand over his mic.
