MLB.com | Bryan Hoch: In his first start since his no-hitter, Corey Kluber was only able to go three innings, but not because of a poor outing. Kluber left the game due to tightness in his right shoulder. He will will undergo an MRI on Wednesday. For what it’s worth, Kluber told reporters after the game that the pain didn’t feel like his shoulder tear from last year, so hopefully he’s right that it’s not serious.
MLB.com | Bryan Hoch: DJ LeMahieu was placed on the paternity list last night, as his wife, Jordan, was due to give birth to their first child. Amid the excitement among teammates at Yankee Stadium, Luke Voit told reporters that he’d probably be heading to the paternity list soon as well, as his wife, Tori, is due this weekend, when the Yankees are set to play in Detroit. Hooray for Baby Bombers!

4:30pm: It gets worse for the Yankees, as Boone has since said Kluber will miss at least eight weeks (via Jack Curry of YES Network). He’ll be shut down from throwing for four weeks and then will have to build up his arm strength for another four.

Luke Voithas a Grade 2 oblique strain and will go on the 10-day injured list.
New York Yankees Now Have Ninth Covid-19 Breakthrough Case
UPDATE: A ninth member of the New York Yankees organization has tested positive for coronavirus after being fully vaccinated.
Manager Aaron Boone said Sunday that a “staff member” tested positive, which they learned Saturday night. He did not identify the staffer, but said the new case was not part of the on-field coaching staff. Previously, pitching coach Matt Blake, first base coach Reggie Willits and third base coach Phil Nevin, along with shortstop Gleyber Torres, were named as the positive cases.
The staff member that tested positive Saturday is quarantining in Baltimore. The other positive cases remain in quarantine in Tampa.
