Gbamin scores in second training match Michael Kenrick Saturday, 17 July, 2021
Jean-Philippe Gbamin s latest injury comeback continued today as he scored in a behind-closed-doors practice match with Blackburn Rovers at USM Finch Farm.
The Ivorian midfielder has endured a nightmare time at Everton following his £23m move from Mainz in 2019, suffering a serious quad muscle injury shortly after making his debut, rupturing his Achilles just when he was due to return in the spring before injuring his knee in training after just one match back earlier this year.
Fit again and hoping to finally get his Everton career off the ground as the 2021-22 campaign draws near, Gbamin scored the only goal against Rovers.
Everton will sign 16-year-old striker Francis Okoronkwo after agreeing a fee of £1m with Sunderland.
That s according to MailSport who say that the Blues will add him to their development squad as the latest acquisition with an eye on future first-team involvement.
Okoronkwo is already 6ft 3in, and his physique allowed him to compete with players 2 years above his age group in Sunderland s Under-18 side last season, where he made 17 appearances, scoring three goals and making three assists.

Inter and Arsenal withdraw
Fabian Delph was not on the plane when Everton s squad flew out to Orlando today because he has had to self-isolate and will miss the Florida Cup which is now down to just two teams.
The midfielder was pinged by the Government s COVID-19 track-and-trace system and was advised to quarantine after coming into contact with someone who has tested positive for the virus.
“Everton can confirm that Fabian Delph will not travel with the squad to the Florida Cup in Orlando as a precautionary measure after coming into contact with someone who has since tested positive for Covid-19,” read a club statement.

Summer Spending?
With talk of £100m being available for summer transfers, a look at our projected cash position and how the close-season business might be achieved
With yet another “big summer” looming for Everton and claims that Moshiri will fund player acquisitions drawn up by Ancelotti and Brands by perhaps as much as £100 million, knowing what our cash position is, and knowing how we might fund player acquisitions this summer is of interest to all Evertonians.
Predicting cash flow from outside an organisation is a notoriously difficult task. However it is possible to give a range with reasonable accuracy. The accounts providing a starting point and provide information such as opening cash balances and amounts due to be paid and received in the following twelve months.
