Olivia Martzke of Buena Vista was named the High School Youth of the Year by the Chaffee County Boys & Girls Club.
Martzke was named alongside Youth of the Year Kuper Banghart of Salida and Middle School Youth of the Year Aberlyn Leon in April. The annual recognition program is now in its 16th year.
âOlivia was awarded the High School Youth of the Year Award at Boys & Girls Club because she makes everyone at the club see the best version of themselves,â said BGC director Brian Beaulieu.
âShe is a Spark Fitness coach to dozens of kids, and her ability to relate to all youth, from elementary kids to teenagers makes her a leader every day,â he said. âShe is kind, helpful and an inspiration to our members and staff. This was one of the most challenging years for everyone, but kids helping kids made it one of our best!â

It replaces a Meyer Sound system based on the same concept that had contributed to the success of the 2,000-capacity venue for more than 16 years. Both the new replacement system and the prior system were designed by GerrAudio, Meyer Sound’s Canadian distributor, in consultation with the venue technical staff.

STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) Voters in Stevens Point’s first district will not be returning to the Briggs Street High Rise to cast their in-person ballots.
Due to restrictions on visitors to nursing facilities during the COVID-19 outbreak, the location was moved to Mid-State Technical College on CenterPoint Drive last year, and in a news release on Monday, election officials say it will remain there for the foreseeable future.
The next election in the district is a primary for the state’s Superintendent of Schools on February 16th.
