Water may be restored into south Abilene by this evening, city officials said in a news conference Tuesday morning.
But that will require the help of residents to make sure that pressure is restored throughout the city s system by keeping taps turned off. And then to boil water for two minutes for drinking and cooking use.
The city will alert residents when sufficient pressure is restored, City Manager Robert Hanna said at a morning news conference.
If power is maintained at the city s northeast treatment plant, it was hoped water service could be returned into south Abilene by day s end.
