Cardington-Lincoln purchases 2 buses

CARDINGTON Members of the Cardington-Lincoln Board of Education, considered many topics over the course of a three- hour meeting held Monday, April 12.
• Approved was the purchase of two new buses, totaling nine new buses in the past six years. This equals the replacement of new route buses as there are eight regular daily routes. One of the new buses will carry handicapped students as it has a lift with camera (cost $58,694) and the other is a stock bus with camera system and ten year warranty (cost $98,694).
These 72 passenger buses were purchased with federal stimulus funds, noted district treasurer Jon Mason. Mason said the district finance overall balance was holding strong. Income from real estate taxes was a bit higher, he said.
C-L school board reorganizes for 2021

CARDINGTON Pat Clark was re-elected president of the Cardington-Lincoln Board of Education when members met Jan. 11, through the Zoom medium.
Named vice president was Matt Clinger. The board agreed to meet the second Monday of every month at 6 pm in the Cardington-Lincoln High School library. There will be no July meeting.
Authorized as official signatures were those of the superintendent, treasurer and board president. FC Bank, Cardington, was designated as official depository of all school funds and the Morrow County Sentinel was designated as the official publisher of all Board of Education required legal notices.
C-L addresses COVID-19 issues

CARDINGTON Meeting via Zoom, members of the Cardington-Lincoln Board of Education heard Superintendent Brian Petrie describe the district’s status on the COVID-19 virus.
Responding to a question posed by John Edwards, parent of two Cardington-Lincoln High school students, Petrie said, “Our top priority is the welfare of our students and we understand that an important component of the school experience for the students is involvement in both academic and extracurricular activities.
“Our staff and coaches have worked diligently at following the protocols set forth by the Ohio High School Athletic Association and the Ohio Department of Health in order to create a safe environment for our students. Our athletic director is in regular contact with other schools to determine the safety of participating in contests with our partner schools. We use local, immediate health data to determine the feasibility of participati
