A tornado ripped through three Florida communities Wednesday as snow buffeted the Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern states in a flurry of wild weather, according to local reports.
The large, extremely dangerous tornado ripped across Pinellas, Hillsborough and Polk counties, beginning just before 4 p.m. Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service, covering more than 50 miles in about two hours.
There was extensive damage in Pinellas County, according to the Tampa Bay Times. But there were no confirmed fatalities or serious injuries. The tornado weakened over Tampa Bay and formed again in Polk County on the other side, according to the paper.

A tornado caused damage in Pinellas Park on Dec. 16, 2020 as a powerful line of storms moved through the greater Tampa Bay region.
The tornado touched down in Pinellas Park just before 4 p.m. Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service. It then reformed later in the evening over Hillsborough and Polk Counties.

The line of storms moved across the waters of Tampa Bay before coming onshore again near the Howard Frankland Bridge and moving through Tampa and Hillsborough County.

PINELLAS PARK, Fla. - Warehouses and buildings along Endeavor Way, near 66th Street in Pinellas Park, suffered significant damage after a tornado tore through a two-mile span of Pinellas County early Wednesday evening.
Car windows were shattered, and businesses had walls ripped down. An 18-wheeler was knocked over on its side and roofs from large buildings laying up against fences.
We spoke to one office worker who said the bad storm turned into one that felt potentially deadly very quickly.

PINELLAS PARK, Fla. - Cleanup started after Wednesday s tornadoes left a trail of destruction between Pinellas Park and Polk County, with residents and business owners having to continue to assess the damage and all that was lost.
The first tornado caused significant damage in Pinellas Park where at least 25 buildings were damaged along Endeavor Way. Even an 18-wheeler was knocked to its side and roofs from large buildings were seen resting against fences.
A residential area on North Elmhurst Drive, just south of Bryan Dairy Road, experienced some of the worst destruction. Trees were down, and several homes and vehicles were damaged.
