Pseudonymous authors published more than 150 copycat packages just three days after Sonatype published research around a software supply chain flaw, attempting to exploit the vulnerabilities in the brief window before a patch.
Ethical hacker and security researcher Alex Birsan posted a blog on Feb. 9 that detailed how he used dependency, or namespace confusion, âto push his malicious proof-of-concept (PoC) code to internal development builds of over 35 major tech organizations including Microsoft, Apple, Tesla, Uber and others.â Sonatype released its own analysis of his findings, the company said.

TaupÅ District Council chief executive Gareth Green has announced he is reducing the number of chiefs at the top of the organisation s management structure.
The Taupō District Council is thinning out its senior leadership team and chief executive Gareth Green is also signalling he has secateurs at the ready for the next layer of management. A media release late on Thursday afternoon announced a reduction in the senior leadership team from seven to four with the new roles being “recruited for immediately”. The second step in the process was working with the next layer of management to realign functions, allowing the number of staff in these roles to also be reduced, Green said in the release.

Players will be anxious to impress Tipp Senior football manager David Power and his management team in what will be a much shorter than normal pre-season.
