Human Skeletal Remains Found in Benton County
The Sheriff s Office was notified of the discovery on Thursday afternoon.

Detectives working with the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab and the Kennewick Police Department believe the remains are from one adult and have been there for some time.
The Benton County Coroner s Office will work to determine the cause and time of death. A DNA test will also be performed to identify the deceased.

The Normandy school district’s state-appointed governing board gained two more members Thursday as the state school board tried to appease concerns in the community over the struggling district’s leadership.
In a brief special meeting of the Missouri State Board of Education, board members approved expanding Normandy’s governing board, known formally as the Joint-Executive Governing Board, from five members to seven.
Mike Jones, a former state board member, will soon join Normandy’s board along with William Humphrey, who served on Normandy’s school board as an elected member before the state takeover.

Nick says a lot of people might be dealing with some trouble spots in their lawn from snow mold and spots from their dogs.
When it comes to snow mold, Nick says lightly raking should do the trick. The dog spots – you need to rake a little more aggressively to get that old, dead material actually out of there – because that s not going to regrow, he says. Then they ll want to put down a little top soil and some seed.
