It s been nearly five years since Hannah Thorne was killed by two men drag racing on a narrow highway, and her mother is still being dominated by the grief in her chest on a daily basis.
Gail Thorne has watched her daughter s friends grow from teenage girls into young adults, and often imagines Hannah standing alongside them, sharing in the same milestones their first apartment, first day of university, their graduation.
But while the men responsible for her daughter s death have left their jail cells and moved into halfway houses and beyond, Thorne still can t rest at night.

Goldman Sachs Group has hired back its former chief risk officer from Wells Fargo.
Brian King will return to Goldman Sachs as consumer chief risk officer and head of business operations, King confirmed to Compliance Week.
“It’s a first line of defense role,” King said.
For the past seven months, King has been chief risk officer for Consumer and Small Business Banking at Wells Fargo, overseeing frontline risk management for the divisions, according to his LinkedIn profile. King had previously served two years as chief risk officer for Consumer Products at Goldman Sachs.
When I first came to Concord in 2003, I moved here from Charlotte. I believed Concord to be a small, county-seat town in the shadow of Charlotte. NEW YORK Goldman Sachs Group Inc is rehiring a former executive in its consumer bank division and promoting several others, as the company seeks to replenish its top leadership after several key departures in recent months.
Brian King is rejoining Goldman as its consumer chief risk officer and head of business operations. King led risk oversight for Goldman’s consumer bank division from 2018 to 2020, when he left to become the chief risk officer for Wells Fargo & Co’s consumer and small business banking division.
