Share This: Michelle Black’s husband, Bryan, was a Green Beret and one of four American soldiers killed in an ambush in Niger in October 2017 by ISIS terrorists. If her husband’s death wasn’t bad enough for her, the nightmare that followed was worse as she couldn’t get a straight answer from his unit, and the various headquarters that the Green Berets fell under, of what had caused that fateful outcome.  Now, Michelle Black has published a book titled Sacrifice, A Gold Star Widow’s Fight for the Truth. It recounts her husband’s life, the events leading up to the ambush, its aftermath, and the investigation surrounding it.

Yachting Monthly 0shares Marine electronics company B&G announces sponsorship of the Brian Black Memorial Award for marine environmental journalism, with £3,000 and other prizes up for grabs. Brian Black close to capsizing iceberg in Greenland Yachting Monthly’s Brian Black Memorial Award, which celebrates the best writing about marine environmental issues as explored by sailing boat, has been sponsored by marine electronics company B&G Navico. The company’s support means that there is now a prize pot of £3,000 up for grabs for the winning entry, with £2,000 going to the winner, and £1,000 going to their charity or marine environmental project of choice. Prizes also include publication in Yachting Monthly; an original artwork inspired by the winning entry by artist Kieron Black; a presentation hosted by the judging panel; a physical award, and the right to use the award logo.
