Williamstown Takes Big Step Toward Replacing Streetlights

The Select Board on Monday approved an intermunicipal agreement to transfer authority over the street lights from the Williamstown Fire District to Town Hall.   Once the Prudential Committee, as expected, gives the agreement its blessing, the way will be clear for the town to purchase the existing lights from National Grid, which has offered to sell the used lights for $1.   At that point, the town will have responsibility for maintenance of the lights, Town Manager Jason Hoch explained to the Select Board. The next two seasons were split between the Class A-Advanced Dayton Dragons and the Class A Daytona Tortugas. His 2017 was then split between Daytona and the Class AA Pensacola Blue Wahoos.

In a shortened season with heightened injury problems, his flexibility was exactly what the team needed. On Friday, the Padres and Profar agreed to reunite, with San Diego signing him to a three-year, $21 million deal that includes opt outs after each of the first two seasons. But while Profar is headed back to southern California, what role he’ll play there remains undecided. A Padres team without many holes has spent the offseason filling in what cracks it has, leaving precious little space for more cooks in the
