Dozens of New Canaan Police officers, their families and town residents and officials gathered under a tent outside the department’s South Avenue headquarters Thursday to recognize those who have been promoted within NCPD and those who have gone above and beyond to earn special awards.

Police Chief Leon Krolikowski told those in attendance on a clear, comfortable evening that the ceremony is designed “to celebrate the accomplishments of many officers.”

Cook County County Board President Toni Preckwinkle was scheduled to “clap out” workers administering the final shots this afternoon at a mass vax site at the Tinley Park Convention Center. It’s one of six large-scale sites that have provided hundreds of thousands of shots to residents since the start of the year.

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Galway will be the first city in the country to have a completely hybrid Bus Ãireann fleet by 2022.
26 buses were delivered to the city this week and will enter service over the next number of weeks.
A further batch is scheduled to be delivered towards the end of 2021 to complete the transition of the Galway city bus network to low emission electric hybrid buses.
Bus related greenhouse gas emissions are expected to reduce by at least 30% due to the changeover.
Brian Connolly, Regional Manager West, Bus Ãireann says changes to the depot to facilitate charging and training for drivers and mechanics is well underway to accommodate the new vehicles.
